POWERS;
Rohan can manipulate and create practically anything from sand, and I'm not talking beachside castles here, although she's excellent at making those, too. Given an amount of sand, she can form anything, from a knife to a building. Larger things obviously require greater quantities of sand, and if need be, she is able to extract the grains of sand that compose rocks to give herself more material. While she prefers to create things with sand in order to attack, she's also willing to simply direct the movement of large quantities of sand to attack like a wave.
HISTORY;
Rohan is Australian-born, the only daughter of an expert on aboriginal culture and an archaeologist. Neither had wanted to give up their career to look after the girl full-time, but they also didn't want to leave her in the care of someone else for a prolonged period of time. So much of Rohan's life was spent outdoors, in some form of tent or other as she followed around her parents as they worked. A life predominantly spent outdoors made her a relatively active child. So much so that when she was hardly into her teens, she'd taken up mountain climbing and quite a few other rather dangerous hobbies.
Her parents really couldn't be more proud of her, and when others questioned the logic of letting a girl so young do such risky things, her parents would always say that life was short and who were they to deny her the joy that her activities brought her? And besides, they often went right along with her when they weren't working.
She discovered her abilities with sand at seventeen, a fluke that resulted from a faulty security line snapping and nearly sending her to her death on the rocks below during one fateful climb. The two friends she had been climbing with couldn't quite explain the sudden appearance of a rather sandy ledge halfway down the cliff, but its presence had saved Rohan's life. And vanished back into the rock once she was safely out of danger. The event would have been chocked up to coincidence, if strange things hadn't started happening around Rohan from that day forward. She would wake up with sand filling her bedroll, rocks seemed to crumble away at her touch, and going to a beach - any beach - became a hazard.
It was her mother's suggestion to speak with the shaman of an aboriginal tribe, after several doctors, a priest, and more than one crackpot theorist had examined and questioned Rohan, with no conclusions. The shaman, however, took one look at the sand clinging to Rohan's clothes and hair and told her a somewhat cryptic tale concerning the end of the world, and various stories passed down through the generations concerning the event. Whether or not Rohan believed him was completely up for debate, but she was about ready to do anything to stop the onslaught of sand that seemed to follow her wherever she went.
It took her three years to master her powers over sand, and now at twenty-two, she's just starting to involve herself in the Battle for Sydney. When she isn't attending her classes at college or continuing one of her ever-dangerous hobbies, anyway.
PERSONALITY;
Rohan is an incredibly active, take-no-crap young woman. She loves running risks, and as such, often views her place in destiny as any other challenge. While it wouldn't be entirely accurate to say she takes the whole business seriously, she's not quite prone to joking about it either. Her stance is more a "show me your moves" sort of outlook. Rohan is loud and a bit ragged around the edges, with a raucous laugh and a way of scaring nearly anyone she comes into contact with to death with the amount of risks she's willing to take. She never backs down from anything, and will also never turn down a challenge. Her abilities manipulating sand have given her an abundance of confidence and perhaps a little too much arrogance as well. So much so that once she's set her mind to something, it's hell trying to talk her out of it, and even then it's very likely she won't listen anyway and will just go on with her original plan.

Rohan stands at medium height with slightly tanned skin, bright green eyes, and short messy brown hair. She has a somewhat boyish look to her, as well as a rather athletic build due to her constant outdoor activity. She'll wear pretty much anything she can find lying around, and she always says that as long as she can locate her sneakers, she's just fine.
